America in Bloom

The Downtowners has formed a local America in Bloom program, a nationwide beautification program that uses flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements to create clean, inviting areas and celebrate heritage. To join the team, email ldowntowners@gmail.com.

May 3, 2025 was the Downtowners first planting session.

 

50 volunteers from organizations including Red Canoe Credit Union, Cowlitz County Master Gardeners, Longview City Council, Beth's Place, and Mark Morris and Kelso high schools joined.

 

300, 3-gallon bags of soil donated by Bondi Farms in Longview.

​

22 planters planted so far, with two more by the "Welcome to Downtown Longview" signs to come.

 

Over 200 plants planted and sourced from the Kelso High School Plant Sale, volunteer donations and local garden centers.
