Cowlitz County Master Gardeners Plant Sale

The Cowlitz County Master Gardener annual plant sale, its primary fundraiser, is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Cowlitz County Fairgrounds and supports programs such as demonstration gardens, youth gardening classes and raised bed giveaways.

The one-day event, held the day before Mother’s Day, is designed to kick off the gardening season with a wide selection of plants, including vegetables, herbs, hanging baskets, perennials and shrubs.

Organizers plan to offer more than 5,500 plants, including 26 tomato varieties and 20 pepper varieties, with an emphasis on locally grown and hard-to-find options.

Volunteers spend months preparing for the sale by propagating plants from seeds, cuttings and divisions, using home gardens and greenhouses to grow inventory timed for spring planting.

Proceeds from the sale fund community education programs, with organizers emphasizing affordable pricing and a broad selection to support both gardeners and outreach efforts.
