About the event
The Columbia River Author Festival will take place Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Longview Public Library, offering a free, all-ages event focused on local writers from Cowlitz County and nearby communities.
The biennial festival, held in even-numbered years, centers on connecting readers with regional authors through a large book fair, author meet-and-greets and opportunities to explore locally produced work.
Organizers expect more than 40 authors to participate, with hundreds of titles available for purchase and a range of genres represented.
The schedule includes panel discussions, a presentation and book signing with author Shay Mirk, a ribbon cutting for a new zine library and a hands-on zine workshop.
The event is structured as an open house, allowing attendees to drop in throughout the day to browse books, attend sessions and engage with authors.
