Mark your calendars for a fantastic community event. We have four art walks scheduled for 2011. All of the events are from 5pm-8pm on Thursday evenings.

What is the ArtWalk Longview?  A self-guided tour of downtown businesses exhibiting/selling art, musicians performing, and/or performance arts on a designated evening. Many of the businesses will be serving light refreshments such as beverages, wine, beer, snacks, and cheese.

ARTWALK LONGVIEW BACKGROUND
ArtWalk Longview emerged through the discussions between the local galleries and Museums. Our first ArtWalk Longview was held Saturday October 27, 2007.

The Longview Chamber of Commerce supports this event through the Longview Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Longview Main Street Program.  The Chamber  is interested in helping this event continue to be a success and grow in scope and noteriety.  This type of event helps Longview as a Main Street City.

ArtWalk Longview's main goal is to help Longview become more comfortable with exchanging commerce for art – locally.  Residents and visitors can purchase or experience great art - right here in Longview, TX. TCC PHOTO | GALLERY has very fine work from photographers from all over the world for sale here in Longview, TX. P's GALLERY is Longview's Fine Art Gallery showing original art from local, regional and nationally recognized artists. ART GALLERY 100 exhibits the art of many local artist and is located in Shannon's Beading Basket.   LONGVIEW MUSEUM OF FINE ART often opens their galleries to artists to sell their work during ArtWalk Longview.  Other downtown venues and shops exhibit original art and art prints.

Another goal is to encourage all downtown merchants, banks, attorneys, photographers, restaurants, designers , multi-media producers, etc. to participate by: exhibiting a local artist that you like that evening, hold a screening of an art film you produced or like in your business, showcase your own art collection. Get creative – it’s art night !
