Art Walk - Downtown Longview, Texas

Mark your calendars for a fantastic community event. We have four Art Walks scheduled for 2011.   All of the events are from 5pm-8pm on Thursday evenings.

What is the Downtown Longview Art Walk?  A self-guided tour of downtown businesses exhibiting/selling art, musicians performing, and/or performance arts on a designated evening. Many of the businesses will be serving light refreshments such as beverages, wine, beer, snacks, and cheese.

ART WALK BACKGROUND
As many of you may know, the Art Walk emerged through the discussions between the local galleries and Museums. Our first Art Walk was held Saturday October 27, 2007.

The Longview Partnership is interested in helping us make this a success. This type of event helps with Longview’s renewed status as a Main Street City.

Art  Walk's main goal is to help Longview become more comfortable with exchanging commerce for art – locally.   Residents and visitors can purchase or experience great art - right here in Longview, TX.   TCC PHOTO | GALLERY has very fine work from photographers from all over the world for sell here in Longview, TX.  Other downtown venues and shops do the same.  

Another goal is to encourage all downtown merchants, banks, attorneys, photographers, restaurants, designers , multi-media producers, etc to participate by: exhibiting a local artist that you like that evening, hold a screening of an art film you produced or like in your business, showcase your own art collection.  Get creative – it’s art night !

The second Art Walk increased participation by four times over our inaugural event!
